Barry M Hi Shine Nail Paint - Acai Smoothie

"I could stop buying makeup but I'm not a quitter"

When I am having a bit of a ‘down’ day, there is nothing that perks me up more than spending some pennies on a bit of pampering. After a particularly stressful day, I found myself headed to Superdrug for a quick browse around.

Normally, this is nothing short of dangerous! In the past, I have found the trips where you have no reason why you are going in a shop to be the most expensive..you know the sort where you come back with a receipt for well over £30 and a bag contained a selection of  ‘must have’ offers usually without much of a clue why you bought them! I am lucky in that I work close to quite a few shops, but this does mean that a few spends can literally get out of the control. One of my friends'  husbands couldn’t work out where their money was going every month. They saved all their receipts and he then presented her with a pie chart showing that most of their money had been spent in Superdrug on exactly these kinds of shops!

I knew I could not spend very much (it being nearly the end of the month) and then I came across this....

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Acai Smoothie. A bargain at £3.99. Normally this is not the type of colour I would go for as I tend to like very dark or very bright colours. This colour is very neutral, but it has just enough of a ‘pop’ of bright in it to make in interesting. It is perfect for work and nights out.

I love Barry M polishes. They have an excellent coverage and last for a decent amount of time. I use two coats because I always think that one coat looks uneven. You can make them last longer by sealing with a clear topcoat.

The applicator brush is on the thicker side. This is handy when you are in a rush as it covers the whole nail quickly, but it can be trickier to direct into every corner of your nail because it has such wide coverage.

This polish doesn’t disappoint and I’m sure I will be wearing it for many autumn weeks to come. Every time I look at my hands I feel a bit more cheered up now!

Please excuse the photos which were taken at my desk. They probably don’t do the colour justice.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Barry M?
